Congratulations and thank you to all the participants! At each festival I learn something new or see something I have never seen before, and that is part of what makes it such a fulfilling weekend each year. The other piece that makes it a great weekend is the camaraderie and reuniting with theatre friends from all over the state annually. If you missed this year’s festival, please make an effort to come next year – it is well worth the trip! I would like to take a moment to thank Cayuga Community College, Bob Frame and the Auburn community for hosting us for the past six years. We will be forever grateful for Ann Frame and her committee for working so hard each year to bring us such fun weekends of theatre! As it has been stated previously, the intent for festival is that it rotates around the state to give everyone a chance for the festival to be closer to their home every few years. We have been searching and reaching out over the last couple of years to find a new home for the festival. We have asked you all to look at your home theaters and to consider host- ing. I am proud to say that the 2019 & 2020 festival will be hosted by Rome Community Theater in Rome, NY! We are very grateful that they reached out to us and offered to host. RCT has been in existence since 1953 and has a long-standing tradition of theatre excellence. They have been invited to perform at the TANYS Festival on many occasions and each year a large contingent from their group attends the festival whether they have a performance happening or not. RCT has also hosted the ESTA Festival on two occasions, so they are very familiar with and equipped for hosting. Next year’s TANYS Festival will remain on the weekend before Thanksgiving – November 22, 23 & 24, 2019. Thank you, Rome Community Theater for stepping forward. More in- formation on the festival to come in the next few months. We would like to be able to line up hosts for future festivals. The more lead time we have, the better for everyone. Is your theater interested in more information about hosting a future TANYS Festival? Please con- tact our administrative secretary for more information.
