Mark your calendar for November 22-24, 2019. The festival will be hosted by Rome Community Theater, In Rome, NY. Festival chair John Parker promises to plan a festival to live up to the quality of the wonderful festivals we have had the last 6 years in Auburn. This is a two-year commitment so plan to come back to Rome in 2020. Since the festival dates remain the weekend before Thanksgiving, the window for having shows adjudicated for festival remains the same as in the past not a week earlier as was mentioned at Festival 2018. The festival committee is busy planning the hospitality parts of the festival, the hotel, lunches, afterglow and banquet. At its most recent meeting it has chosen the theme “TANYS Is Forever”. We will be celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of TANYS. This anniversary is represented by the Diamond, thus the theme is a takeoff of the James Bond movie “Diamonds Are Forever”. TANYS would like to thank the volunteers and the Auburn community for supporting us over the last 6 years. Specifically, thank you Ann Frame, Bob Frame, Cayuga Community College and the many others who have been instrumental in planning and working these festivals. Rome is requesting your input below. Since Rome does not presently have a hotel facility with a banquet hall, it will require individuals to drive between the two locations. We are investigating the possibility of offering folks staying at the hotel of choice a school bus ride to en- able anyone who cares to drink a ride back and forth. Being a new concept to TANYS, our survey below is designed to give us your input on this idea. Details of the upcoming festival will be provided in the near future. Thank you, Rome, for their very fine proposal and we are looking forward to coming to your theater. Your Name: Would you take advantage of the school bus to attend the banquet? Please answer yes or no. Would you be willing to pay an extra fee (not included in the superpass) for this privilege? Please answer yes or no. If you were willing to pay this extra fee, how much would you pay? COMMENTS YOU HAVE: I realize this is really early to think about Festival, but the Festival committee has to commit to the bus idea no later than May 22. Please give us your opinion today even if you are not sure if you are attending. We would like to hear your opinions right now, but no later than Apr. 24. Response can be via email to festival chair John Parker, jparker3531@twcny.rr.com or text to him at 315-225-4157 or via mail to PO Box 4143, Rome, NY 13442. Although your name is requested, the results to my committee will be anonymous. It is requested to ensure one response per person.
