www.tanys.org Callboard - Volume XVI • Issue 2 • Fall 2019 Page10 Technical Note From RCT Rome Community Theater co-technical directors John Frank and John Doiron and their technical staff are excited to share our space with some of the best nonprofessional Theatre that NY State has to offer. As “TANYS Is Forever”, we hope you all plan to attend Festival whether your theater has a show or not! One of the exciting parts of Festival is sharing our technical facilities with each of you. There will be technical specifica- tion information created which illustrates what you can and cannot do at RCT. As soon as it is available, it will be placed on the TANYS website so you can get an idea of what we have available. The specification information will include the contact information of both volunteers. Feel free to contact either of them if you have questions. Please leave a message if the phone is not answered and they promise to get back to you. Even though this is not a national year, RCT plans to follow the typical rules- start/end in a 10x10 box, 10 minutes of load on and off the bare stage. Make plans now about how you will transport and erect your set. When the adjudicators meet to choose the Festival performance slots there is only three weeks to Festival. If you haven’t at least made some plans you may find yourself scrambling! Once the invitations are accepted, RCT will be sending out a packet of informa- tion to your designated technical con- tacts. Facts about the performance space and the technical schedule for the week- end are just two of the data sheets that will be in this packet. There also is will be technical information on lighting and sound capabilities. We hope you will join us at Festival. TANYS promotes excellence in theater communities. And, of course, “TANYS is Forever”. Open Letter to the Members of TANYS I need you to talk to me: What do you want from TANYS? No, we cannot give you money, sorry. We work with a bare bones budget just as most of you do. What can we do that will help you? One outreach started and maintained by the TANYS Treasurer Cindy Nagle are periodic e-mail blasts. If you wish to be included in them you can contact the TANYS office Info@tanys.org and request to be added. Are the Festival and Adjudications enough ? The board has discussed regional workshops- good idea? OK, who will host them- have you an organization and a site? Do you ever go to the TANYS website? Anything more there you would like to see? The Board and I cannot help you if you if you don’t tell us what you want and need. And speaking of the Board of Trustees- here is another way you can help. We on the Board have a limited circle of interested, competent and energetic people from which to solicit potential Board Members. We only meet in person 3-4 times a year including Festival. Think about it. We could use your help! You could be important in making TANYS a stronger and more viable organization. In closing let me repeat- talk to me! If we don’t know you are interested we can’t invite you to join our merry band. Give me your feedback- the good, th e bad AND the ugly. You can contact me at: framer@cayuga-cc.edu I want to hear from you. Bob Frame TANYS Festival Food to order a specific 6-inch sub and other items from Subway. These orders will be collected at the Friday evening and Satur- day morning performance sessions. This lunch will be served at RCT so there is no need for the map. Lastly, make sure you take the TA- NYS provided shuttle bus to the banquet at the Delta Lake Inn on Saturday Evening for guests staying at the Hampton Inn. The banquet begins at 6PM with enter- tainment and some social time. The meal will begin at 7 with the menu provided in a separate Callboard article. We hope you purchase a superpass and join us at all these events. Our Friday night afterglow will be held at El Jarocho’s in Rome, just down the road from the Hampton Inn for super- pass holders only. We hope you will join us to talk theater. Food at this venue will be various appetizers. On Saturday, we are providing lunch at the Delta Lake Bible Conference Center across the street from RCT for superpass holders and those who purchased a sepa- rate lunch ticket.
