We will be introducing our Festi- val Drink, the Augustus Gloop for your drinking pleasure but of course the bar will be open with many other options both soft and hard. There will also be light snacks to nibble on as we reacquaint ourselves with friends, both old and new. This year’s festival will be adjudicated by an expert panel including Annette G. Procunier, Rose Bur- nett Bonczek and Jumbo Schimpf. Annette and Rose have impressed us in past years with their always pertinent comments presented with intelligence, humor and “Pure Imagination”. We are pleased to welcome to this distinguished panel, Jumbo Schrimpf that many of us saw and were impressed by at the ESTA festival in 2017. On Saturday there will be two more performance sessions. Superpass holders and A La Carte ticket holders will have a luncheon on campus. See elsewhere in this issue for the banquet menu and follow the website for planned guided discussions. The Hilton Garden Inn on Saturday evening will be the site for the Annual TANYS Adjudicator Awards Banquet. In keeping with the “TANYS and The Chocolate Factory” theme, Superpass and A La Carte Banquet ticket holders are invited to dress-up in their Willy Wonka best. The Candy Man can! The TANYS Board of Directors will be awarding prizes for the best themed costume, however please take note that due to low participation we have decided to discontinue the table centerpiece competition One of the main purposes of the Banquet is to recognize the year’s stand-out performances both on and off the stage. Merit award winners from the previous year’s adjudicated productions will receive their certificates of Merit, Excellence and the most coveted, Outstanding categories. As always there will be food, drinks and action galore as the evening progresses but hopefully no firemen or 8” of snow this year! Please remember the Silent Auction. To make the tables even more valuable, we ask that each of our member companies please consider contributing a basket for this important Festival fundraiser. In- dividual members are of course invited to donate an item also. We are looking forward to bringing back the ever popular 50/50 raffle. The proceeds from the Silent Auction and 50/50 are shared between the winners of the TANYS festival to help defray their costs as they move on to compete at ESTA, so bid often and bid high! We will also be selling merchandise at Festival. Yes, there will chances to win a Golden Ticket! Yes, there will be lighted pens!!!! Plus much more.
